Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars one who was able to fully transition from country to the mainstream making her an iconic pop culture icon and conquering the world in the process. Swift shed the country influences in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin, revealing she was among the finest singers/songwriters from her generation. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use the moment to benefit. It was apparent in her early songs, particularly with regard to the neo pay homage to Tim McGraw. On her 2nd album, Fearless (2008), Swift showed a songwriter getting to know her. Fearless was successful not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified singles. Its Top Ten songs Love Story and You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. It also performed exceptionally well throughout the world. The Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago was a continuation of her earlier successes, propelling the singer into superstardom. She grew in popularity throughout the three albums that followed - Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift was now firmly established within the genre she was a part of. She stayed on top of the charts even when she dropped her own style on her sister albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
