Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American voice actor, director producer and vocalist. She is an attractive, skilled actress that has inspired numerous Asian actors to make it in Hollywood. An early string of success appearances in popular television series led to her becoming famous for joining the cast on Ally McBeal, where she played Ling Woo. She translated her newfound fame into roles on the big screen, in Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels and several other films. Her performance was outstanding as Japanese gangster O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. At the same time, she was playing the lead role in a few films that failed at the box office, such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Then she began voicing characters from animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason from Cashmere Mafia was an unimportant role which didn't have any impact. Southland, the critically-acclaimed drama police drama that Liu starred regularly played a part that has helped her regain her status as a an internationally acclaimed as an actress. Liu is extremely careful when choosing her roles to ensure she's not a typecast. She is also a talented artist that isn't limited by her ethnicity.
